Lisa Rasmussen joined McLetchie Law Group in 2024. With an expansive range of experience in both civil litigation and criminal defense—including extensive trial experience—Lisa has devoted her career to representing her clients with integrity, loyalty, compassion and zeal, empowering them to navigate complex legal processes with confidence.
Lisa has extensive experience in advocacy, litigation, and appellate practice. And her commitment to justice also extends beyond the courtroom. She has actively contributed to enhancing Nevada’s justice system through leadership roles in organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada (ACLUNV), the ACLU National Board of Directors, and Nevada Attorneys for Criminal Justice (NACJ). For over 15 years, Lisa served as NACJ’s legislative co-chair advocating for reforms that promote fairness and justice for all before the Nevada Legislature. Lisa is also a founding member of the Innocence Center of Nevada (ICON), dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted persons in Nevada. Lisa has also been a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) for 24 years.
Lisa is a graduate of San Diego State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a special certificate in quantitative analysis. She also completed a two-year Master’s Degree program at San Diego State University before starting law school. She earned her Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law. Lisa’s extensive background in consulting and sociology enriches her current ability to provide compassionate, informed, and effective representation in even the most challenging cases.
Prior to practicing law, Lisa ran a research project through the National Institute of Health (NIH) dedicated to improving services to dually diagnosed veterans in San Diego, she taught introductory sociology at San Diego State University and she owned and operated Alternative Sentencing Resources, a business dedicated to the preparation of sentencing proposals in state and federal court and mitigation in death penalty cases.
After a career of experience that includes work at other small and midsized firms, a national/international firm and her own practice, Lisa has joined forces with and found her home at McLetchie Law. Lisa shares McLetchie Law’s emphasis on zealous advocacy and particular interest in constitutional law. Her addition to the firm enhances its ability to serve its clients.
