Pieter M. O’Leary

Pieter is an experienced civil litigator whose current practice focuses on civil rights litigation, police misconduct claims, business disputes, as well as general contract matters.

Prior to joining McLetchie Law, Pieter represented both individuals and business entities in state and federal court involving a wide variety of matters including construction defects, construction work site injuries, general premises liability claims, contract disputes, business torts, and labor and employment claims.  

Pieter has participated in numerous police ride-alongs with various agencies, attended the San Diego County District Attorney's Office / San Diego County Sheriff's Department’s Citizen Academy, and was appointed to San Diego’s Citizen Review Board. 

While in law school, Pieter served as a judicial extern to Justice James A. McIntyre of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division One, was a certified intern with the California Attorney General's Office in the Criminal Division, served as a member of Law Review, and was named to the Dean’s Honor List.

Outside the office, Pieter enjoys spending time with his young son, coaching soccer, hiking, swimming, and cycling.
